Homemade Fig Jam

We discovered a fig tree in our backyard and it was so exciting watching them grow. Around the 4th of July they all started ripen, changing from green to brown.

Make Some Jam!!

Our first time making homemade jam & it was surprisingly easy! With less sugar & no preservatives!

You can use this recipe with other fruits - we plan on making strawberry & blackberry jam next.

Ingredients:

  • 2 Cups diced fruit (I will dice smaller next time for less chunky jam)

  • 2 Tablespoons fresh Lemon Juice

  • 2 Tablespoons water

  • 1/2 to 3/4 Cup of Sugar - depending on how sweet you like it

Instructions:

  1. In saucepan, bring all ingredients to a boil over medium heat - stirring occasionally

  2. Reduce heat to low & simmer for about 45 minutes, stirring occasionally, until desired thickness

  3. Cool & Enjoy!

Finished Product
